The club has scheduled a BJCP exam for those interested in the Beer Judge Certification Program. The exam date is set for Saturday, November 14th, 2009. Mark Nesdoly, a National-level BJCP judge and long-time exam grader with the Edmonton Homebrewers Guild, has graciously offered to administer the exam on behalf of the BJCP.
We will be offering a BJCP exam preparation course this fall for members interested in taking the exam and learning to become abeer judge. Our current BJCP beer judges are working on a syllabus, and Darren Bender will be organizing the course.
Some preliminary pre-course sessions will be offered in the months of March, April, and May in the hour before our regularly scheduled monthly meetings (i.e. first Wednesday of each of these months at 7:00 pm). We encourage anyone interested in learning more about becoming a beer judge and the BJCP Program to attend. There will be no cost to club members for the pre-course sessions.
