While this isn’t the first 20+ dollar beer I have bought, this is the best I have tried for higher dollar beers. It has saison like qualities yet easy drinking. Very zesty, lemon taste, slightly yeasty but surprisingly mellow. We devoured this quite quickly post drinking some APA's, so were kind of drunk now.. Overall we finished it and want MORE!

Funny story, when I was in Portland I ordered a saison at the hotel bar without looking at the price. It came to me as an unlabled wine bottle. I was thinking I ordered 1 glass...um no the while bottle and it was 26 dollars US...Well I'm a beer connoisseur, I say to myself" so the bottle it is!" Well it was low carbed, quite plum'ey and a tad wine'y. I shared a bit with a few on-lookers inquiring to "what the hell is that?!?!" I ended up drinking it all despite it kind of sucked JUST to get my moneys worth.

:)

I enjoyed Brooklyn's Sorachi Ace, as well. I love those lemony Sorachi Ace hops...I'll have to book a trip to Japan just to grab some, I think.

The Vineyard has had SA hops on occasion, and Hops Direct stocks them all the time. Still, any excuse to get out of the country, eh?

I have a few ounces of them, whole, saving them for something special.
