As a club member what is the procedure for ordering grains from wild rose, I had heard we could do this but was unsure. I know they are in the 25kg bags but that is ok. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks TM

To be clear: Wild Rose does not sell grain.

Canada Malting does however!

1. Contact Canada Malting at 1-866-310-8694 or email Allison at <allison.nimik@canadamalting.com>.

2. She will send you the details on ordering grain. (basically they need a credit card and they will send you the current price list)

3. Their warehouse is by Didsbury and it's cheapest to pick it up there. Otherwise you can make shipping arrangements with them.

If that sounds too complicated, you can always swing by the Vineyard and pick up crushed or uncrushed grain right there. I don't know what their policy is on selling whole bags, but it may be worth asking.

Cheers,

Corey

I'm wondering: is there any interest in a Wranglers group buy? I'm looking at a couple bags but am not super pleased with the idea of paying full-pallet prices on shipping for a couple bags (taking time off from work to hit the Didsbury warehouse isn't really an option) ... was thinking that a group buy might amortize that a bit.

you would probably have to arrange that outside of club as it becomes a conflict of interest with our sponsor The Vineyard. They sell by the bag and generally have a few extra sacks of base malt around. It is best to email or phone them if you want specialty malts by the bag as they only do orders about 3 or 4 times a year at this point. Will be more often if there is more demand not unlike the Wyeast that is now done about every 6 weeks.
