Im really loving hop head beer from tree brewery, what are some other good hoppy beers for sale on the market?

Ive also tried adding 1oz of aromatic cascade hops to a Brew House Pale Ale Kit (to the secondary ferm.) and found that its not adding a whole lot of hoppiness to it. Do you have any suggestions to get the powerful hop flavor and aroma to a brew kit? (maybe use a different brew kit) Thanks for all of your help!!

hey jamie

tree hophead is a good one. there are a lot of american ipa's and double ipa's available in the city (mostly from the states but some candian ones too (half pints and wild rose both have an ipa and a seasonal double ipa) that you may enjoy if you like the hophead.

with respect to the brewhouse kits, try the ipa instead of the pale ale and dry hop with a couple of oz of cascade or centennial....very nice indeed. i've done it a few times and it's nice and hoppy (not the same as hophead but nice ). I've got good scores in competetitions with it too.

Thanks tom, i just googled some hoppy beers and i found that half pint beer, will have to give it a shot. As for the brewhouse ipa, is that what you used for your competitions? Also, do you have any good tips for the hopping process, like when to add and how to add them? Thanks a lot Tom!

There are some great hoppy beers available in Calgary. Just about anything from Lagunitas is bound to be highly hopped - their seasonal releases Hop Stoopid and A Little Sumpin' Extra Ale are currently available in limited quanitites at better stores (Willow Park, Dalhousie Co-Op, Zyn for sure). I'd never pass up an opportunity to guzzle some of their New Dogtown Pale Ale, either.

Tree's Hop Head Double IPA is newly available for a limited time, as is Wild Rose's Imperial IPA. Get 'em while they're available!
