mills

I was wondering which mills people are using and what the ad/dis advantages of them were. I am interested in purchasing one and wanted to know peoples thoughts on them, ie crankansteins or monster mills. 2 or 3 roll mills??

Hello Terry,

I use the Crankandstein, because it was the lowest cost at the time I bought it. It is mounted on a piece of 3/4" plywood with a SS hopper and 170 RPM gear motor.

Maybe I can give you a link: www.hobbybrauer.de/bilder/Biermann/K6...

I believe it works well, the gap is 0.6 - 0.8 mm, depending on the raw material. The malt is conditioned before I roll it, becasue it is to dry and 'explodes' to much when rolled 'bag dry'.

The moiture is increased by 4% a day in advandce.

All the best, Joerg
