Lets build a recipe for Lawnmower Beer:

This style can be classified as a light, refreshing session beer suitable for hot summer days, possibly after yard work.

Here are the criteria I am looking for and some suggestions:

- Simple to brew.

Single Infusion, Batch Sparge.  Easy to get ingredients.

- Quick to ferment: <7days.

Ale (~70 F fermentation temp), what yeast?

- Can be enjoyed soon after fermentation is complete.

no idea what criteria count here?

- Low cost.

Keep the hops, special malts and gravity lower.  Should be tolerant to using different varieties of hops (e.g. freezer raiding...)

I am thinking maybe a pale ale / wheat ale?  Any other ideas?  Once we pin down an all-grain recipe we should try to convert to extract as well.

I did alright using a Brewhouse Wort kit for Honey Blonde Ale. Just increased the ratio of filtered water. takes about 11 days to ferment though..

Cant beat a Kolsch as a Lawnmower. Down south its a must to have this on tap during May-November (our Summer)

Kolsh with 50% wheat is my next brew actually, I have a cool plan for that one. Yeast is waiting for me to pick it up.. I'm kegging my california common Hefersteam this weekend as well, I'm very interested on how that one will turn out.

It's funny an supposed exbrewmaster, (an older guy) was giving me grief saying I could'nt put different beer styles together, and I couldnt brew with certain extracts combinations, etc... I'm like "watch me, and it will be good too!" Needless to say my Weihenstephaner clone beer I passed around on Jan's club meet was a hit and my girfriend cant get enough of it.

Edit: Woops I forgot to contribute to Corey's post. Well I'm no brewer expert and not full mashing at this point but you could use some rice in your recipe to get that cleaner easy drinking taste, as well as make it 4% or make a lighter saison, that's in my queue of beers to make actually.
