Marzen/Octoberfest

Ingredients:
Munton amber DME  1kg
Munton extra light DME 2kg
Prairie harvest DME 500g

chocolate malt 1/2 lb
crystal malt 1 lb
black patent malt 2 oz 
Fuggles plugs 1oz  45 min
Tettenanger plugs 1.5 oz 15 min
Tettenanger plugs  0.5 oz 3 min
Irish moss 1/4 tsp  last 15 min

Brewing Notes:
Steep crystal malt in cold water 1 hour, add chocolate and black patent malt and heat to the boil. Remove the grains. Add DME. Return to the boil. Add hops as above.

Specific Gravity: 1.043   Potential EtOH: 5.55%
Priming Sugar: none

Yeast Notes:
Paddockwood’s dried lager yeast 1 pkg (have also used German Lager yeasts to good effect)

Hi Greg,

Welcome to the forums. Is the PaddockWood lager yeast you recommend the Saflager Fermentis S23? Just curious (as I have some waiting to be used)

I asked paddockwood and the yeast was likely Staropramen lager strain.
